Hey guys,
I wanted to introduce one thing to warlighters (players on war.app)
For some time I have been working on a site
https://custom.wl-stats.comAnd want to announce beta testing for anyone who wants to run a tournament without making the games by hand and wants some additional extensive stats.
Right now I provide a place for:
- P/R League season - run by Meldarion
- Clan Cup - run by Bodski
Starting pointYou sign in with your war.app account (the normal CLOT sign-in, no password goes to the site), set up a tournament, and press Start. The site creates every game on war.app, follows the results, moves the bracket or table on, and finishes the tournament. Players get ordinary war.app game invites with a link back to the tournament page.
What you can set up- Format: single elimination, double elimination, round robin or Swiss.
- Size of a side: 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3.
- Template: pick one from the shared list, or paste a template link or a game link to add a new one.
- Players: 2 to 256.
- Points: the site's usual table, your own points by place (for example 10, 7, 5, 3), or points per game won.
- Optional: a start time, a registration deadline, co-organizers, a link to your forum thread.
Team tournamentsTeams can be set by you, drawn at random at the start, or entered by the players themselves: one player signs up and names their partners. You can still change the teams until the start. Every member of a team gets the team's points and place.
Who can play in it- Open: anyone signed in can join until the start.
- Invite-only: you paste profile links and only those players are in. Good for a group of friends or players from several clans. The tournament page is still public.
- Clan-only: only members of your clan can join or be invited (the site checks membership with war.app). You can still add guests by hand. Two hours before a scheduled start the site checks the clan again and tags anyone who has left, so you can decide whether they still play.
- Clan-only and private: the same, but only your clan's members can see it. It stays out of the public lists, rankings, stats, the API and Discord, and counts only toward your clan's own standings.
Private tournaments for a mixed group (not one clan) are next on my list. If you want one, say so here; it tells me how to build it.
Getting playersPublic tournaments are announced in the Discord channel
https://discord.gg/wwDDZteQc5: when entries open, a day before they close, when the tournament starts, and who won. A clan-only tournament's post says which clan can join. Just-finished tournaments also show at the top of the home page.
While it runs- Brackets can be searched for a player, zoomed, and centred on your own match.
- If a game went wrong, the organizer can give the win to the other side or have the game played again, without stopping the tournament.
- If war.app is down, the site waits and catches up when it is back; nothing is lost.
- Every game shows up on the players' pages, with partners and opponents. Team results are kept apart from 1v1, and the Stats pages switch between all games, 1v1 and team games.
For clansEach clan has its own page with its players, its tournaments, its Clan Cup and Clan League seasons, and clan standings. Clan moderators can also mark which tournaments count toward a clan Elo table that only members see. Clan tournaments are created by the clan's moderators, so if you want to run them for your clan, message me and I will appoint you.
History is on the site tooAdditionally, I provide history stats for:
- Clan League seasons 1 to 19
- Clan Cup I and II
- every P/R League season
- Titled Tuesday
- War Gaming Live
They are on the site under Leagues/Cups, each with a Hall of Fame and stats. Those games count on player and clan pages. Clan League 1 to 11 standings match the official tables; about 250 old games are missing or incomplete, and if you remember a replay or a booted game, tell me.
Leagues and cups that come backIf you run something with seasons or editions (a promotion/relegation league, a knockout cup between clan squads, or a clan league with 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 tournaments), message me and I will set it up as a series that you run.
How to start1. Sign in at
https://custom.wl-stats.com2. Open Create and press "Request approval". It is a one-time step; I approve organizers by hand because all games are made by one host account.
3. Create the tournament, fill it, press Start.
Good to know- Games are made by the host account of mine - KKND (at least for now). If you have blacklisted it, you cannot be invited.
- Results are read every 4 hours (every 10 minutes on real-time templates), so a bracket may take a while to move after a game ends. Organizers can press "Poll games now".
- A game nobody accepts within 72 hours is deleted and the player who joined goes through.
Questions, problems and ideas: reply here or message me here or on Discord.
kind regards,
kknd
