I am open to making changes to the cups, however, I should like to retain the following qualities:

1. They should be 'light touch' events so one Game at a time for each Cup seems good;
2. They should be Clan focussed; and
3. They should have an element of randomness/jeopardy.

Changes from last year:

- Clan protection is afforded in Round 1 to prevent Squads from the same Clan playing each other in the First Round; and
- Byes were made in Round 1 to ensure that nobody benefited from a bye in more crucial later Rounds.

Possible future changes:

- The Template pool for Clan Cup may be revised although I think that the mtl Templates provide a good, well known mix with an appropriate number of non-standard ones;

- The Template pool for Clan Teams Cup may be revised. The current list was arbitrarily selected by myself and includes the highly unpopular Crimea Army Cap. Should that Template remain, with it being part of the jeopardy that you may end up playing it, or should it be replaced by something else ? Are there any other suggestions ? Things I have considered include a WR 2v2 Template which may be something new (e.g. 2v2 Malvia or Tor-ture WR) or a Commerce Template. Since the selection of these Templates was made by me, I think that it is appropriate to open that up for wider discussion.

Guidance on Template Selection

Templates must be strategic, so no Small Earth, Lottery or other such Templates will be considered, however, an element of weirdness (such as Blitzkrieg or INSS) should feature as should most of the strategic features available in War.app (e.g. LD, MA, WR, etc.).

I am open to a small annual variation providing that this involves very low administration. An example of this may be that the Cup winner makes to Template changes and the runner up makes one. We should have a pool of Templates to chose from in this respect although other Templates could be added to the pool over time.

I note that there is very little use of Commerce settings in the Strategic community which should probably be remedied.

No changes will be made to the current competitions which are on-going
