This is a topic of dispute between me and another war.app player: I think the GoFundMe refunds were not stipulated by Activision or a third party & that Fizzer is giving people their donations back purely out of the goodness of his own heart. The other party seems to suspect it’s because his hands are tied by the courts or Activision.

The reason I believe he’s doing it out of kindness is because he strikes me as the kind of person who likes to treat others fairly, thank them for their support, and not take advantage of anyone. Plus there is no reason for a court, GoFundMe, or Activision to stipulate these refunds- people donated to Fizzer not expecting a single penny back, purely to help him, and he did indeed use the funds on the case itself, like he said, although there’s some dispute about whether he represented the case fairly when asking for money but that’s neither here nor there.

I suppose if the refunds aren’t part of the settlement then Fizzer can simply tell us he’s doing them of his own volition, since how he spends his settlement funds (or his own money outside the settlement) probably falls outside any confidentiality clause in the agreement. 👀
