Before the most recent update, I had a very simple method that would avoid any sync issues: after switching pc's, wait for the map to fully load and show you your offline progress and then wait 10 more seconds before clicking the window. Within those 10 seconds, the game would always sync with the server and the offline progress window would refresh with the actual up-to-date data.
In the distant past I had the occasional sync issue, but ever since I started using this method I haven't had a single one. Until the last update.
I'm afraid I can't give more details than that since I'm not really doing anything. I just load the game and wait, just like I always have. However since the last update the game doesn't seem to sync properly any more. I have lost progress several times now. Anyone else seeing an increase in sync issues since the update?
Yep I agree, have lost progress a few times - I'm now syncing, and then going back to Idle home and back into the level to try to avoid it; I'm still nervous every time I switch to mobile though.
I also can't really give any useful diagnostic info except that it 'felt like' it was worse if playing more than one idle level at the same time, but I can't prove it, so probably ignorable
Question - is the new idle lag a result of trying to fix this? I.e idle now becomes inactive once per minute and you can't interact with anything for between 5 and 10 seconds - it's getting quite annoying now. Is this just me, or is everyone affected?
Seems you can also trigger it if you go back to the browser tab after not interacting with it for 30 seconds or so; happens every time for me when doing that
Why not just using the SYNC-Option? When switching devices, just use the sync-Option (Alt-Ctrl-G on PC or menu on mobile devices) and go back to the idle overview page. Then go to the new device, open your idle level and use sync there.
This works since the last update perfect. On the new device you always see the message, that the device change was detected and gives you the ability to cancel. Before the last update, it was quiet random, if the device change was recognized.
Yep you're right - manual syncing will (should!) always result in no issues - I believe the ideal world is that this isn't required but that might be a pipe dream so that's the recommended option and I've never experienced any issues when doing it
The separate lag issue I complained about above I reported as a bug (but because it's a bug I don't think others can see the shared link) and it was quickly resolved by Fizzer
Actually I want to reply to this again - from the time I reported this separate lag issue, it took Fizzer 1 hour for the initial response, and then another 2 hours before a fix was live. That's insanely good
(NB I have no affiliation with WZ/Fizzer but work in IT and wish I still worked in a small company/startup where this was possible)
