I have the dig speed upgrades and the artis are free ... but that is in itself a serious grind b/c you
(A) have to clear levels to get more artis to dig up
(B) have to upgrade a slew of them in succession
(C) don't often get Epics

Take Hex Earth for example, you get ~260 artis from clearing it, then you have to do approx:
- 15x poor arti upgrades
- 40x common arti upgrades
- 5x uncommon arti upgrades

You won't get enough rares or epics to do any upgrades from the arti dig bounty alone. You typically get 0 epics, 0-2 rares. Each upgrade is a bunch of scrolling and at least 7 clicks, so the above sequence is about 450-500 clicks/taps. And that is in fact, a boring grind

If you clear Hex multiple times in succession, you'll accumulate a slew of artis/upgrading artis and then be able to upgrade some Rares into an epic. In comparison, I find it less grindy to do HCCC, and if your specs are high enough, take a win on Battle to grab an additional epic

CB finished halfway through and I didn't do a second hospital upgrade on any level with it. Will try Siege this time around. Is it now possible to skip first upgrade on some levels?

Getting SL sooner doesn't seem close. I need a lot more AP to get it before HFL and I'd then do HFL anyways...
