It's all about relationship building Le Mars, I like to sweet talk them, bribe them a little showing what they can win and doing a few ;) here and there. And BANG! You've got them hooked on your marketing jargon.
You don't get them to buy into your clan but you the person recruiting them.
Sometimes you encounter what I call "Kings" in the recruiting market, which I'll briefly describe here since a certain post above reminds me of one.
Kings in chess are the most powerful piece in chess but in terms of practicality the most useless, they offer nothing in terms of tactics to attack the enemy but control all the pieces minds. They often like to hold back their cute little bishops/knights to make them feel valued and attack bitterly once someone tries to take them.
Good point Plat. Also I think your clan have sex appeal in term of icons and name :P Im sure that a lot of people fell like outlaws one time in his life
You are free to ask, but don't be mad when you fail. I have nothing against asking. The more happy I am when players decide to stay in HAWKS, although they have been asked from other clans.
When we are at comparisons. It's like you get passed by a driver with a risky manouver. But when you meet him at the next traffic light you make a little fun of him :)
