Erwin Rommel was one of the most strategic generals of all the 20th century. There is no need to bash the name.

Rommel wasn't a Nazi, he was a soldier of the Wehrmacht and it's widely believed he wasn't aware of what was going on in Europe in terms of rounding up and exterminating civilians, that's not a name you can drag through the dirt. Nor did I even mention his name.

Honestly I see nothing wrong with it. They make it VERY clear on their clan page that they do not condone anti-Semitic beliefs or Naziism. I have played games with numerous T4R members and have found that the ones I talk to do not support Nazis at all. In fact, in one diplo game, our alliance was forced to join the USSR because the T4R member refused to ally Nazi Germany because he despised the killing of millions of innocent people. Honestly, base a clan off ANYTHING in history and someone could get offended. Actually. Try me. They offend no more than any historically based clan will.

Lawlz aiming a general comment at several anti-T4R posters. He called them "fairly ignorant" for calling the T4R "racist" (who said that, btw?)

Since no one called T4R racist, then his comment wasn't aimed at anybody. It was a simple statement of fact. Thus, he didn't call anyone racist.

That's rather flawed logic. He was perhaps using the wrong word, but it was clearly intended for someone, otherwise it would have no business being stated in the first place.

And you really don't need to speak for Lawlz, he's a big boy :P

It was perhaps intended preemptively, as in, "Anyone who calls T4R racist is ignorant". As to your second comment, lawlz doesn't appear to be online/checking the forum, and I always love a good debate. An argument will suffice.

Or, more likely, it was in reference to Verzehrer's comment about how Nazi ideology was aimed at ethnic cleansing and how the T4R was glorifying an era which worshiped the concept of an Aryan race, which Lawlz translated into "Verzehrer called T4R racist and is therefore ignorant" or something along those lines.

As someone who studied German history through primary and secondary school and in college, I can affirm that there is something wrong about glorifying the military aspect of the Third Reich and forming a clan called the Fourth Reich :P

Hey Fuhrer here. Don't have a bitch and whine at my members. I created the clan, talk to me about it if you have a problem. Or even better, just keep it to yourself. Either way, it's not really going to impact me much.

For a British person, I find the second world war very interesting. I don't find it at all surprising that on a game called "Warlight" (emphasis on War) there are other people with that common interest. With a clan system formed, is it so unexpected that there is a clan based on the military structure of Germany?
We are not Nazis, it is all roleplay. The clan bio is written to stop complaints like found on this thread. We are not Nazis, Neo-Nazis, fanatics or whatever we may be called. It is roleplay, it uses ranks. It's a structure and it works. We come in peace, we aren't looking for trouble, so don't bring it to us.

As for the misinterpretation people have that we glorify Nazism, we simply don't. People seem to very easily jump to conclusions and totally misunderstand things. Up until Hitler made his massive blunder in Russia, the Nazi military machine was pretty damn good. They took out France who had been preparing for war for 20 years, bombed the hell out of London and conquered Europe. If it was Napolean there's no problem appreciating that military structure?

I want to apologise, again, if anyone was offended. This is a game on the internet, it won't exactly ruin your life. We aren't Jew-hating Aryans, we're average people just like you. Quit making drama, it's a waste of time and energy.
