== Timeslots ==
== Overview ==

The Clan War season revolves around a simple cycle:

To participate in the clan war, come to this page during an active timeslot. Timeslots happen at regular intervals each day.
# Join a clan.
# Participate in Clan War matches during active timeslots.
# Earn wins for your clan.
# Wins are converted into points.
# Points conquer territories on the Clan War Map.
# Clans earn rewards based on their performance.

When a timeslot is active, you can get a real-time game on a template of your choosing against an opposing clan.  Do your best to win!  You can only join one clan war game per day.
Each player may participate in at most '''one Clan War game per day'''.

The timeslot will list out one or more template options.  The number of template options is dynamic based on the historic demand for that particular timeslot.
== Joining Clan Wars ==

The Clan War will attempt to make as many games as possible among the players who queued for each template.  It will never match clan mates against each other.  If someone isn't able to get a game, such as if an odd number of players register for a 1v1 template, that player will get a free win.  However, to prevent abuse, free wins are never awarded to players if at least one of their clanmates got a game on that template.
To participate, you must be a member of a clan.

== Team Templates ==
If you are not already in a clan, select '''Join a Clan''' from the upper-right menu.

When playing a team templates, for example Strategic 2v2, each winning player counts as one clan war win, so one game can result in multiple wins.
A player is considered a '''participant''' if they play at least one Clan War game during a season.

Different clans are never mixed within one team.  Therefore, it's important when queuing for a team template that you make sure enough people from your clan queue to make a team.  If you queue alone to a team template, you won't get a game and won't get a free win. You will, however, be able to queue for the next timeslot.
A player is considered a '''contributor''' if they win at least one Clan War game during a season.

== Clan War Map ==
Some rewards are available to all participants, while others are only available to contributors.

Instead of a leaderboard, Clan War season progress is visualized by having a giant map. Clans who win games are rewarded by getting a territory on the Clan War Map in their color. Subsequent territories a clan earns will be placed nearest to their first one, so clans will expand out in a circle over time.
== Timeslots ==

The winner of the season is simply the clan with the most territories on the map.
Clan War matches are played during scheduled timeslots that occur throughout the day.

While the exact territories and bonuses don’t have any strategic meaning, it’s advantageous to have a map instead of a simple list because it helps visualize how well clans are doing compared to others by seeing how big their circle is. It also makes it easier to visualize how much time is left in the season simply by how filled the map is.
When a timeslot is active, players may queue for one of the available templates. The system attempts to create as many matches as possible between players from different clans.

Since clans are expanding outwards as circles, if they bump into another clan it will create visually interesting patterns, which will help visualize how the Clan War went for each clan. If a clan has a lot of success early, they might have a big uninterrupted circle, whereas if a clan had success late in the Clan War, their territories might be more scattered as they filled in gaps around the map.
The available templates for a timeslot vary based on historical demand.

Another advantage is that each season can be played on a different Warzone map. Sometimes you’re conquering the world, sometimes Europe, etc. In addition to your clan starting from a different part of the map each time, this helps make each season feel unique.
Matchmaking follows these rules:

== Rewards ==
* Clanmates are never matched against each other.
* The system attempts to create as many matches as possible for each template.
* If a player cannot be matched due to an uneven number of players, they may receive a free win.
* To prevent abuse, free wins are not awarded if at least one of that player's clanmates successfully received a match in the same template.

All players who participate in a Clan War are given a free Warzone Idle cache at the end of the season.  The cache size goes up based on the number of territories your clan conquered.
== Team Templates ==

Note that you '''participated''' in the clan war if you played at least one clan war game, regardless of whether you win or not.  All other rewards are given to '''contributors''', who are players that won at least one clan war game during the season.
Some templates require teams, such as Strategic 2v2.

In designing Clan Wars, a lot of effort was put into making sure that it’s fun for everyone who participates. In a traditional ladder, Fizzer feels it’s a lot of fun for the top 10%, who are competing for a high rank, but pretty bland for the majority. For players in the bottom half, their rank more has to do with how many participants there are instead of their actions.
In team templates:

To accomplish this, Clan War rewards are divided into two categories:
* Each winning player counts as one Clan War win.
* A single team victory can therefore produce multiple Clan War wins.
* Teams are always composed entirely of members from the same clan.
* Different clans are never mixed onto the same team.

*Rewards for achieving a high rank;
Because of this, players should coordinate with their clan before queueing for team templates.
*Rewards for conquering a certain number of territories.

While only the best strategic minds will qualify for the high-rank rewards, the number-of-territory rewards should be achievable by clans of all skill levels. For example:
If there are not enough members from your clan to form a complete team, you will not receive a match and will not receive a free win. You may try again during a later timeslot.

Rank rewards:
== Clan War Map ==

*1st place: 5,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, a rare artifact, 1 of every Idle power
Clan War progress is visualized on a large map made up of territories.
*2nd place: 3,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, a rare artifact, 1 multi-level power
*3rd-5th place: 1,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, two uncommon artifacts, 2 time warp powers
*6th-9th place: 400 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, one uncommon artifact, 1 free cache power
*10th-20th place: one uncommon artifact, 1 Free Cache Power

Territory rewards: (edit: effects last for two weeks)
As clans earn points, they conquer territories on the map. Each conquered territory is displayed in the clan's color.

*First territory: Alloys sell for 10% more
New territories are generally placed near a clan's existing territory, causing the clan's area to expand outward over time. As neighboring clans grow into each other, distinctive borders and patterns naturally emerge.
*Second territory: Mercenaries are 10% cheaper
*Third territory: Items sell for 10% more
*Fourth territory: 30% faster artifact cooldown
*Sixth territory: Challenge level army camps give 40% more armies
*Tenth territory: 10% more armies from caches
*Fifteenth territory: 20% faster dig times
*Twentieth territory: 15% more AP from levels
*Twenty-fifth territory: Battle attacks against you reduced by 20%

The map has no strategic gameplay element. Its purpose is to visually represent:

In addition to these rewards, all players who participate in a Clan War season will get a free Idle cache at the end of the season. The size of the cache goes up based on the number of territories your clan conquers.
* Relative clan performance.
* Seasonal progress.
* The growth and expansion of clans throughout the season.

== Past Clan Wars ==
The season ends at the end of a GMT day in which all territories on the map have been conquered.

In the following part, "Clan Wars" will use the acronym "CW".
== Rewards ==

=== Season 1 ===
To view the up-to-date rewards, view the clan wars page and select View Rewards.

As the update 5.10 rolled out, Fizzer officially announced CW1 so start at the midnight UTC timeslot of March 16, 2021, and ended in 12:12 AM, April 1, 2021 UTC. The map used was Final Earth by RA.
=== Rank Rewards ===

Master Clan scored the win with 9 territories, followed by Two Steps From Hell and Python with 8 each.
Top-performing clans receive additional rewards based on their final leaderboard position.  These can be coins, idle powers, artifacts, etc.  These are the biggest rewards that clan wars offers.

=== Season 2 ===
=== Win Rewards ===

The thing is, once a CW season ends, the next season would start at the next timeslot, hence CW2 started at the 4AM UTC timeslot of April 1, 2021, and ended in 4:14 AM, May 14, 2021 UTC. The map used was World Nations 2014 by Red Menace.
Clans also unlock temporary bonuses by earning wins during the season.  These effects last for three weeks.  For example, once your clan gets 2 wins in a season, you unlock "Alloy sell values increased by 15% for three weeks"

Master Clan scored the win with 26 territories, followed by M'Hunters with 25 and Two Steps From Hell with 22.
Clan War rewards do not stack with equivalent rewards from [[Ladder]].  If multiple rewards affect the same statistic, only the strongest effect applies.  For example, if you have a 30% artifact dig time reduction from Ladder rewards and a 20% reduction from Clan Wars, only the 30% reduction will be used.

=== Season 3 ===
=== Participation Reward ===
CW3 started at the 8PM UTC timeslot of May 14, 2021, and ended in 8:28 PM, June 14, 2021 UTC. The map used was AD 1000 by Huitzilopochtli.

M'Hunters scored the win with 27 territories, followed by Master Clan with 25 and Two Steps From Hell with 18.
All players who participate in at least one Clan War game during a season receive a Idle cache when the season ends.  The size of the cache increases based on the performance of their clan during the season.

=== Season 4 ===
== End-of-Day Processing ==
CW4 started at the midnight UTC timeslot of June 15, 2021, and ended in 4:20 PM, July 22, 2021 UTC. The map used was The Siege of Feldmere
by Dark Mist.

Master Clan scored the win with 39 territories, followed by M'Hunters with 34 and Two Steps From Hell with 21.
At midnight GMT, Clan Wars processes all games completed during the previous day.

=== Season 5 ===
During this process:
CW5 started at the 8PM UTC timeslot of July 22, 2021, and ended in 8:28 PM, September 14, 2021 UTC. The map used was Copper Creek Castle
by Ranek.

Master Clan scored the win with 57 territories, followed by M'Hunters with 52 and Two Steps From Hell with 21.
* Win rewards are awarded.
* Each clan's win strength is calculated.
* Each clan's points are calculated.
* Territories are awarded on the Clan War Map.
* If the map is full, the current season ends and a new season begins.

=== Season 6 ===
The Clan War interface shows which day each game was counted toward and provides details about the calculations used for that day's results.
CW6 started at the midnight UTC timeslot of September 15, 2021, and ended in 4:17 PM, November 19, 2021 UTC. The map used was Aklog World by Lionheart.

Master Clan scored the win with 85 territories, followed by M'Hunters with 71 and yolo swag yoyoyo with 39.
== Points and Win Strength ==

=== Season 7 ===
Points determine how many territories a clan conquers.
CW7 started at the 8PM UTC timeslot of November 19, 2021, and ended in 8:12 AM, January 1, 2022 UTC. The map used was Medieval Battleground by Ranek.

M'Hunters scored the win with 54 territories, followed by Master Clan with 25 and Excel with 22.
For a given day:  Points = Wins × Win Strength

=== Season 8 ===
The system is designed so that clans of different sizes can compete fairly. Regardless of clan size, a clan can earn up to a maximum of 25 points per day.
CW8 started at the 12PM UTC timeslot of January 1, 2022, and ended in 7:37 AM, January 20, 2022 UTC. The map used was Greater Middle East by Guiguzi.

M'Hunters scored the win with 25 territories, followed by Excel with 13 and The Last Alliance with 12.
* Clans with 25 or fewer members always have 100% win strength.
* Clans with 26–50 members also have 100% win strength when 25 or fewer members participate that day.
* Clans with 26–50 members and more than 25 participants use the formula: Win Strength = 25 ÷ Number of Participants
* Legacy uncapped clans with more than 50 members use: Win Strength = 25 ÷ (Clan Size − 25), provided no more than (Clan Size − 25) members participate that day.

=== Season 9 ===
For example, if a clan has 40 participants in a day, its win strength would be:  25 ÷ 40 = 62.5%  Each win would therefore be worth 0.625 points. If the clan earned 20 wins that day, it would receive: 20 × 0.625 = 12.5 points
CW9 started at the 8AM UTC timeslot of January 20, 2022, and ended in 8:21 AM, February 7, 2022 UTC. The map used was California 2.5 by NinjaNic.

M'Hunters scored the win with 24 territories, followed by Excel and The Last Alliance with 13 each.
== Estimated Points ==

=== Season 10 ===
A clan's official win strength is not finalized until end-of-day processing occurs. To provide more accurate live rankings, the Clan Wars leaderboard estimates each clan's current-day win strength and temporarily includes those estimated points in the displayed standings.
CW10 started at the 12PM UTC timeslot of February 7, 2022, and is still ongoing. The map used was Europa Barbarorum by i-like-swords.

=== Top-10s of each CW ===
A clan's page clearly distinguishes between confirmed points from completed processing and estimated points for the current day.

Clan Wars

Clan Wars are clan-based competitions in War.app. Players compete on behalf of their clan in daily matches to earn wins, score points, conquer territories, and unlock rewards.

You can access Clan Wars from the upper-right menu in the mobile app or from the Community tab on the website.

Overview

The Clan War season revolves around a simple cycle:

  1. Join a clan.
  2. Participate in Clan War matches during active timeslots.
  3. Earn wins for your clan.
  4. Wins are converted into points.
  5. Points conquer territories on the Clan War Map.
  6. Clans earn rewards based on their performance.

Each player may participate in at most one Clan War game per day.

Joining Clan Wars

To participate, you must be a member of a clan.

If you are not already in a clan, select Join a Clan from the upper-right menu.

A player is considered a participant if they play at least one Clan War game during a season.

A player is considered a contributor if they win at least one Clan War game during a season.

Some rewards are available to all participants, while others are only available to contributors.

Timeslots

Clan War matches are played during scheduled timeslots that occur throughout the day.

When a timeslot is active, players may queue for one of the available templates. The system attempts to create as many matches as possible between players from different clans.

The available templates for a timeslot vary based on historical demand.

Matchmaking follows these rules:

  • Clanmates are never matched against each other.
  • The system attempts to create as many matches as possible for each template.
  • If a player cannot be matched due to an uneven number of players, they may receive a free win.
  • To prevent abuse, free wins are not awarded if at least one of that player's clanmates successfully received a match in the same template.

Team Templates

Some templates require teams, such as Strategic 2v2.

In team templates:

  • Each winning player counts as one Clan War win.
  • A single team victory can therefore produce multiple Clan War wins.
  • Teams are always composed entirely of members from the same clan.
  • Different clans are never mixed onto the same team.

Because of this, players should coordinate with their clan before queueing for team templates.

If there are not enough members from your clan to form a complete team, you will not receive a match and will not receive a free win. You may try again during a later timeslot.

Clan War Map

Clan War progress is visualized on a large map made up of territories.

As clans earn points, they conquer territories on the map. Each conquered territory is displayed in the clan's color.

New territories are generally placed near a clan's existing territory, causing the clan's area to expand outward over time. As neighboring clans grow into each other, distinctive borders and patterns naturally emerge.

The map has no strategic gameplay element. Its purpose is to visually represent:

  • Relative clan performance.
  • Seasonal progress.
  • The growth and expansion of clans throughout the season.

The season ends at the end of a GMT day in which all territories on the map have been conquered.

Rewards

To view the up-to-date rewards, view the clan wars page and select View Rewards.

Rank Rewards

Top-performing clans receive additional rewards based on their final leaderboard position. These can be coins, idle powers, artifacts, etc. These are the biggest rewards that clan wars offers.

Win Rewards

Clans also unlock temporary bonuses by earning wins during the season. These effects last for three weeks. For example, once your clan gets 2 wins in a season, you unlock "Alloy sell values increased by 15% for three weeks"

Clan War rewards do not stack with equivalent rewards from Ladder. If multiple rewards affect the same statistic, only the strongest effect applies. For example, if you have a 30% artifact dig time reduction from Ladder rewards and a 20% reduction from Clan Wars, only the 30% reduction will be used.

Participation Reward

All players who participate in at least one Clan War game during a season receive a Idle cache when the season ends. The size of the cache increases based on the performance of their clan during the season.

End-of-Day Processing

At midnight GMT, Clan Wars processes all games completed during the previous day.

During this process:

  • Win rewards are awarded.
  • Each clan's win strength is calculated.
  • Each clan's points are calculated.
  • Territories are awarded on the Clan War Map.
  • If the map is full, the current season ends and a new season begins.

The Clan War interface shows which day each game was counted toward and provides details about the calculations used for that day's results.

Points and Win Strength

Points determine how many territories a clan conquers.

For a given day: Points = Wins × Win Strength

The system is designed so that clans of different sizes can compete fairly. Regardless of clan size, a clan can earn up to a maximum of 25 points per day.

  • Clans with 25 or fewer members always have 100% win strength.
  • Clans with 26–50 members also have 100% win strength when 25 or fewer members participate that day.
  • Clans with 26–50 members and more than 25 participants use the formula: Win Strength = 25 ÷ Number of Participants
  • Legacy uncapped clans with more than 50 members use: Win Strength = 25 ÷ (Clan Size − 25), provided no more than (Clan Size − 25) members participate that day.

For example, if a clan has 40 participants in a day, its win strength would be: 25 ÷ 40 = 62.5% Each win would therefore be worth 0.625 points. If the clan earned 20 wins that day, it would receive: 20 × 0.625 = 12.5 points

Estimated Points

A clan's official win strength is not finalized until end-of-day processing occurs. To provide more accurate live rankings, the Clan Wars leaderboard estimates each clan's current-day win strength and temporarily includes those estimated points in the displayed standings.

A clan's page clearly distinguishes between confirmed points from completed processing and estimated points for the current day.
