Ladders
Ladders are competitive arenas where players compete for rank, rewards, and recognition. Unlike regular games, ladder games are automatically created by the system, allowing players to focus on climbing the standings rather than finding opponents.
The main ladder page can be accessed by selecting Multi-Player → Ladders. From there, players can join or leave ladders, view current standings, track their ratings, and view available rewards.
Available Ladders
War.app currently offers four ladders:
- 1 v 1 Ladder (minimum level 48)
- 2 v 2 Ladder (minimum level 51)
- 3 v 3 Ladder (minimum level 54)
- Seasonal Ladder (minimum level 52)
How Ladders Work
Players do not choose their opponents in ladder games. Instead, the ladder system automatically creates games and matches players according to ladder rules.
Players can choose how many active ladder games they wish to have at any given time. As games finish, new games may be created automatically to maintain the desired number of active games.
War.app ladders use an ELO-based rating system to measure player skill. Results from ladder games affect a player's rating, which in turn determines their position on the ladder's leaderboard.

Rewards
Ladders offer rewards for both ladder rank and league progression.
Rank rewards are distributed every Sunday to eligible players. In addition, a gold trophy is awarded to the player holding the #1 position when rewards are distributed.
To view the rewards available on a specific ladder, open the ladder's page and click Rewards.
Reward Eligibility
To qualify for weekly ladder rewards, a player must remain in the ladder for the entire week preceding the Sunday reward distribution.
Players who leave and later rejoin a ladder during that period are not eligible for that week's rewards.
Leaving a Ladder
Players may leave and rejoin ladders at any time.
Leaving a ladder:
- Does not remove any ongoing ladder games.
- Prevents new ladder games from being created for that player.
- Does not reset the player's rating.
A player's rating continues to be updated based on the outcomes of any remaining ladder games, even while they are no longer participating in the ladder.
While not participating, a player will not appear on the leaderboard and will not receive a ladder rank. If the player later rejoins the ladder, their existing rating will be used to determine their rank.
This allows players to take breaks from ladder competition without losing their progress.
Ladder Bonuses and Clan Wars
Any active-idle effects earned from ladders are mutually exclusive with equivalent rewards earned through Clan Wars.
For example, if a player has a 30% artifact dig time reduction from ladders and a 20% reduction from Clan Wars, only the larger bonus will apply.
Rules
Players may not participate in the same ladder using multiple accounts simultaneously.
Violations may result in warnings, suspensions, or other disciplinary action.
