Seasonal Ladder

111: /* List of winners */

'''Seasonal Ladder''' is a kind of ladder which was announced by Fizzer on the 23rd of November, 2011[https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2011/11/announcing-the-seasonal-ladder/]. Unlike the other ladders, which are never-ending grinds for top spot, the seasonal ladder is divided into a 60 days seasons, where each season will use different [[settings]]. The first season started on 9 December, 2011[https://www.warzone.com/LadderSeason?ID=4000].

== Games ==
Each player that plays in a season will get 20 games [[#Notes|*]], and will never play the same opponent more than once.

On the first day of a season, every player will get 4 games. Every 4 days after that, one more game is added until all players have 20 games. If a player joins the season late or leaves it early, they are not guaranteed to get 20 games. However, the ladder will try to catch them up with the crowd.

=== Force-finish ===
In order to ensure a winner can be declared and the rankings can be finalized, all games in a season must end by the ending date, which is exactly 60 days after it began. If a game isn't finished when the season ends, Warzone will immediately end it. The winner will be determined by adding up how many armies each player controls on the [[map]], then adding in each player's income times two.

Players are expected to make a reasonable effort to finish a game before the season ends. If you try to intentionally win a game by force-finish that you would have otherwise lost, the win will be taken away from you.

== Rankings ==
The rankings are determined using the same ELO scale that the existing [[ladders]] use, with one small modification, players who play fewer than 20 games (due to leaving the ladder early or joining late) get a penalty of 65 rating points per game. It’s best to join the season before it starts and stay in it for the whole 60 days to ensure you do not receive a penalty. The penalty exists to ensure that players can't get a game from the system by intentionally joining the season late and riding to a high-rank by getting a few lucky games.

== Rules ==
A player may only play on the Seasonal Ladder with one account per season. Violations will be punished with a suspension on all implicated accounts.

Manipulation of the force-finish in the Seasonal Ladder is not allowed, and the use of vacations towards the end of a season leading to force-finish will be considered especially suspicious. Violations will be punished with a suspension. In egregious cases results may be modified, possibly resulting in the loss of games and/or trophies.

== Notes ==
<nowiki>*</nowiki> - some players may get more games, since there are cases where it's not mathematically possible to give everyone exactly the same amount without duplicates. Getting more games is neither an advantage nor disadvantage. <!---Explain this statement [[User:DanWL60]]-->

'''Territories''' are the basic building blocks of Warzone. Each territory is always controlled by a player or [[neutral]].

[[Bonuses]] are made up of a collection of territories.

At the start of a game, every player gets a number of territories that is set up in the settings.

Territories are the key for winning a game. The more territories you have, you'll get more bonus armies which can help you to occupy your enemy. However, if you lose all your territories, you will be eliminated from the game.

When we play, we can see many colored territories. Grey territories belong to neutrals, colored belong to players (or AI's) and territories on which we can't see number of armies are fogged. They can be neutral's or player's territory.

The map with the biggest number of territories is [https://www.warzone.com/Map/42121-Imperator-Rome Imperator Rome] map, having 4000 territories and 820 [[bonus]]es. The Hex Earth has 3.2 thousand territories. However, the map with the smallest number of territories is the Duel map, having only 2 territories. It shows a pirate and a ninja dueling.

'''Clan Wars''' are clan-based competitions within Warzone. You can find its details in the mobile app by selecting Clan Wars from the upper right menu, or on the website under the Community tab.

To participate, you must first be in a clan. If you need a clan, select "Join a clan" from the upper right menu.

== Timeslots ==

To participate in the clan war, come to this page during an active timeslot. Timeslots happen at regular intervals each day.

When a timeslot is active, you can get a real-time game on a template of your choosing against an opposing clan. Do your best to win! You can only join one clan war game per day.

The timeslot will list out one or more template options. The number of template options is dynamic based on the historic demand for that particular timeslot.

The Clan War will attempt to make as many games as possible among the players who queued for each template. It will never match clan mates against each other. If someone isn't able to get a game, such as if an odd number of players register for a 1v1 template, that player will get a free win. However, to prevent abuse, free wins are never awarded to players if at least one of their clanmates got a game on that template.

== Team Templates ==

When playing a team templates, for example Strategic 2v2, each winning player counts as one clan war win, so one game can result in multiple wins.

Different clans are never mixed within one team. Therefore, it's important when queuing for a team template that you make sure enough people from your clan queue to make a team. If you queue alone to a team template, you won't get a game and won't get a free win. You will, however, be able to queue for the next timeslot.

== Clan War Map ==

Instead of a leaderboard, Clan War season progress is visualized by having a giant map. Clans who win games are rewarded by getting a territory on the Clan War Map in their color. Subsequent territories a clan earns will be placed nearest to their first one, so clans will expand out in a circle over time.

The winner of the season is simply the clan with the most territories on the map.

While the exact territories and bonuses don’t have any strategic meaning, it’s advantageous to have a map instead of a simple list because it helps visualize how well clans are doing compared to others by seeing how big their circle is. It also makes it easier to visualize how much time is left in the season simply by how filled the map is.

Since clans are expanding outwards as circles, if they bump into another clan it will create visually interesting patterns, which will help visualize how the Clan War went for each clan. If a clan has a lot of success early, they might have a big uninterrupted circle, whereas if a clan had success late in the Clan War, their territories might be more scattered as they filled in gaps around the map.

Another advantage is that each season can be played on a different Warzone map. Sometimes you’re conquering the world, sometimes Europe, etc. In addition to your clan starting from a different part of the map each time, this helps make each season feel unique.

== Rewards ==

All players who participate in a Clan War are given a free Warzone Idle cache at the end of the season. The cache size goes up based on the number of territories your clan conquered.

Note that you '''participated''' in the clan war if you played at least one clan war game, regardless of whether you win or not. All other rewards are given to '''contributors''', who are players that won at least one clan war game during the season.

In designing Clan Wars, a lot of effort was put into making sure that it’s fun for everyone who participates. In a traditional ladder, Fizzer feels it’s a lot of fun for the top 10%, who are competing for a high rank, but pretty bland for the majority. For players in the bottom half, their rank more has to do with how many participants there are instead of their actions.

To accomplish this, Clan War rewards are divided into two categories:

*Rewards for achieving a high rank;
*Rewards for conquering a certain number of territories.

While only the best strategic minds will qualify for the high-rank rewards, the number-of-territory rewards should be achievable by clans of all skill levels. For example:

Rank rewards:

*1st place: 5,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, a rare artifact, 1 of every Idle power
*2nd place: 3,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, a rare artifact, 1 multi-level power
*3rd-5th place: 1,000 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, two uncommon artifacts, 2 time warp powers
*6th-9th place: 400 coins distributed evenly among all contributors, one uncommon artifact, 1 free cache power
*10th-20th place: one uncommon artifact, 1 Free Cache Power

Territory rewards: (edit: effects last for two weeks)

*First territory: Alloys sell for 10% more
*Second territory: Mercenaries are 10% cheaper
*Third territory: Items sell for 10% more
*Fourth territory: 30% faster artifact cooldown
*Sixth territory: Challenge level army camps give 40% more armies
*Tenth territory: 10% more armies from caches
*Fifteenth territory: 20% faster dig times
*Twentieth territory: 15% more AP from levels
*Twenty-fifth territory: Battle attacks against you reduced by 20%

In addition to these rewards, all players who participate in a Clan War season will get a free Idle cache at the end of the season. The size of the cache goes up based on the number of territories your clan conquers.

== Past Clan Wars ==

111: /* Rewards */

'''Clan Wars''' are clan-based competitions within Warzone. You can find its details in the mobile app by selecting Clan Wars from the upper right menu, or on the website under the Community tab.

To participate, you must first be in a clan. If you need a clan, select "Join a clan" from the upper right menu.

== Timeslots ==

== Team Templates ==

== Clan War Map ==

== Rewards ==

*Rewards for achieving a high rank;

Clans are a group of people on Warzone that were introduced in update 2.2. Quote from the blog:<blockquote>Warzone now has an official built-in clan system! This allows players to form clans, which puts an icon next to each clan member’s name and gives clans ways to communicate easier.

Each clan gets a clan page, which works somewhat like a player’s profile page. They can upload their own image and enter the details they’d like to present. You can view all clans on the new Community -> Clans tab.

When you create your own clan, you have full control over who is allowed in your clan. There’s no limit to the size of clans, and you can remove anyone at any time.</blockquote>

Making a clan costs $15 or 1,500 [[Coins|coins]]. There are over 200 clans. Over 75 have more than 40 members, which is the clan member limit after Clan wars became a thing in early 2020. Link to the clan page: https://www.warzone.com/Clans/List

The Warzone forum is a place where players can discuss openly. Visit it at https://www.warzone.com/Forum/.

== Rules ==

# Warzone's normal [[rules]] apply to the forum, such as being respectful to other players at all times, not spamming, not impersonating other players, etc.
# Don't use the forum for reporting other players breaking the rules. You should report them by using the in-game Report button.
# Don't bump a thread just for the sake of bumping. Posting a message just containing "bump" will just be deleted. If you have a valid reason to bump a thread, explain what it is.
# Don't re-create locked threads. The point of locking a thread is to end the discussion since it wasn't appropriate for the forum. Threads that try to circumvent a lock by creating a new thread to continue the discussion will find their threads deleted.
# Don't use obnoxious subject lines, such as all-caps or excessive length.
# Don't spam links to third-party sites.

== Sub-forums ==
The forum of Warzone consists of these eight sub-forums. All threads you make should be created in the proper category.

=== Warzone Classic ===
Everything about the main Warzone game is talked about here, from normal questions, sharings, to [[Map of the week]] Discussion threads Fizzer opens manually every week.

=== Warzone Idle ===
Talk about [[Warzone Idle]] , the new branch of the game, and everything related to it.

=== Help ===
Here you can ask questions to Fizzer or other players about how Warzone works. This is not the place for bug or player reports, you can use the bug report form [https://www.warzone.com/ReportBug] and the report players button, respectively, for that.

=== Clans ===
Clan things all go here. From clan recruitments, clan wars, to tracking threads for organized clan-based community events like the Clan League, all go here.

=== Ladder ===
All [[ladder]]-related discussion here. E.g. specific games, players or about how ladders work in general.

=== Map Development ===
If you are creating a new [[map]], responding on a newly created map, or just want to talk about maps in general, post here.

=== Programming ===
Discuss software development, such as Warzone APIs, [[CLOT|Custom Ladder Or Tournament framework]], AI framework, [[mod]] making, etc.

=== Off-topic ===
Literally everything else goes here, from things that aren't related to Warzone at all, to the literal politics of the playerbase, or just things that cover several aspects of the game and don't know where to put it. Until February 2022, things are getting a ''little bit heated'' in there, but it is still safe and fine to participate and have fun.

In the olden days there were only seven: General, Map Development, Ladder, Programming, Strategy, Help, and Off-topic.
